Firearm Transfers
So, you purchased a firearm through some auction site or out of some catalog. They can't just send you the gun through the mail. How are they going to get the firearm to you?
Here is how:
You provide us with the information on the Firearm Transfer Form and then we send a copy of our FFL (Federal Firearms License) to the dealer you are purchasing the firearm from. Once they get our license, they know that we are a legitimate FFL and they can ship us the firearm. When we get the firearm in, we give you a call. You come to Range USA and fill out the appropriate paperwork for your background check. And you pay us a fee of $40.00 per item and $10.00 for the background check. (For example: 1 gun = $50.00 2 guns = $90.00 3 guns = $130.00)
*One minor detail - we do not send our license to individuals. We only send our license to other FFL's. If you are buying the firearm from an individual, they do not need a copy of our license. They can simply send the firearm to us - with a copy of their driver license. They do, however, need to confirm all of this with us before sending it. They can call Range USA, Inc. at:

Class III Transfers
Purchasing Class 3 items is actually a fairly easy process. And, it doesn't take as long as has been rumored. Below are the basic instructions on how to purchase a Class 3 item at Range USA, Inc. If you want more details or the legalese associated with it, please contact me. But, for most of you, these basic steps will answer the questions you have and get you headed in the right direction. (For our conversation here, Class 3 items will include suppressors, fully automatic firearms, or short barreled rifles or shotguns.)
Step 1- Locate the Class 3 item you want to purchase. Range USA does not currently carry an inventory of Class 3 items. You may find an item online, from a friend, or from an out of state firearms dealer.
Step 2- Purchase that item from the seller.
Step 3- Let them know and let us know that you intend to have the item transferred thru Range USA. At this point, you have nothing to do. Both shops will exchange our information. They will file the appropriate paperwork to have the firearm transferred to Range USA. Once they get approval to send us the item, they will.
Step 4- Range USA will receive the Class 3 item. Here is where you get involved again. We will complete our portion of the paperwork and provide you with the instructions you need to send the paperwork off for approval. I will explain it all to you in detail. You will follow our directions and send the completed forms along with photographs, fingerprints, and the tax amount to the NFA Branch of the ATF. The tax amount will vary, depending on the item you are transferring. It will either be a $5.00 or a $200.00 fee.
Step 5- Once the NFA/ATF approves your paperwork, they will send the approved paperwork back to Range USA. At which point, we will contact you to let you know that you may come and take possession of your Class 3 item.
Step 6- You will owe Range USA $100.00, when you come to pick up your item. That is what we call a Transfer Fee for doing all the paperwork. Once this fee is paid and another form is signed, you may take possession of the Class 3 item and its paperwork.
Here are a few commonly asked questions.
Q. Can you have the item transferred to a Trust?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I shoot the Class 3 item (if applicable) while it is at Range USA, but still in limbo with the NFA/ATF?
A. Yes, as long as it is an acceptable caliber for our facility.
Q. Does Range USA provide photos or fingerprints that are required to be submitted to the NFA/ATF?
A. No, we do not.
Q. Is the paperwork that accompanies the Class 3 item important?
A. YES! You are required to keep that form with the Class 3 item at all times.

- When the firearm sells, we will contact you and write you a check.
It is real simple and with no work from you. Let us handle the whole thing.
The fee that we charge is a $50.00 flat fee - whether it sells or not. There is no additional percentage - just $50.00. And, that fee is not due until the end - when it sells or when you decide to pick your gun up.
And, of course we run background checks on everyone we sell a gun to (in accordance with Federal law). So, you can put your mind at ease that your firearm was sold to someone who is able to legally possess a firearm.
